Blackpool: South Shore Investment Required (2023)

There's a number of 'past-their-sell-by-date' properties near BPL's South Pier. The area is crying out for investment. Not saying all of these are beyond repair, but even 'for sale' drags the area down. And yet, amongst all of this there are some great restaurants, hotels, and B&B's.

A boat, a fairy? a garage, residential dilapidation, a less-than-beautiful beauty bar, and even the local church has scaffolding up. St Chads seafront hotel is now just a pile of rubble.

As for the Hartes building - I used to love going in there especially at Christmas time as that was the specialist Christmas shop as I knew it, but now the hoardings have been up a couple of years and the roof has gone. That'll be next for demolition, no doubt.

Then there are signs of rejuvenation, like Nazbys which seems to be offering to open up soon with a burger bar. There again, I thought the idea of a business was to spot a gap in the market; there are already loads of fast food places in this area.
