Wrea Green is a picturesque Lancashire village located approximately 4 miles east of Lytham St Annes, 8 miles east of Blackpool and 9 miles west of Preston, according to the
Wrea Green Village Facebook Page.
Wrae Green has the largest village green in Lancashire, and it's own duck pond where locals may be seen trying to catch carp. There were at least three ponds here at one time, until two were filled in to give the
local cricket team a better playing area. The pond, locally known as 'The Dub' is often photographed. It was a cold winter's day when I visited for the first time and much of the pond was iced up. The
Wrea Green Village Website will tell you a lot more.
A proud boast - 'Primary School of the Year 2018'
A chilly winter's day on 'The Dub'
Memorial wall and seating overlooking Wrea Green village green. I liked the simple arrangement of this and took the picture for no reason other than to remind me to mention it to folk in my home town.
