At a cost of £22m the new seafront defences and steps in front of Fairhaven Lake were completed in summer of 2020. This public space makes for a perfect for a walk and enjoyment of the beach. The seafront is new, from Church Scar, through Granny’s Bay to the Spitfire Memorial. The lake itself is salt water and is currently fenced off in places.
